Basement Developments

Custom home projects Built on Integrity, Expert Craftsmanship, and Trust.

Unlock the full potential of your home.

For many homeowners, the basement is an underutilized space – unfinished, outdated, or simply used for storage. At Appalachian Contracting, we see basements as blank canvases waiting to be transformed into functional, inviting areas that add comfort, value, and versatility to your home.

With more than 35 years of experience serving Dahlonega and the greater North Georgia region, we’ve helped families turn dark, unused basements into everything from comfortable family rooms to home theaters, guest suites, offices, home gyms, and more. Because basements are often unfinished or underfinished, a basement remodel is one of the most cost-effective ways to add value and functionality to your home.

Our Process

Remodeling a basement comes with unique considerations such as moisture control, ventilation, and lighting. At Appalachian Contracting, we address every detail to ensure your basement is as comfortable and functional as the rest of your home.

Consultation & Vision

We begin by discussing your goals, budget, and timeline. Whether you’re envisioning a family room, guest suite, office, or gym, this step helps us understand how to design a basement that fits your lifestyle.

Proposal & Agreement

Next, we prepare a clear proposal outlining scope, budget, and schedule. We also address basement-specific needs like insulation, ventilation, and moisture control so you can be confident the space will be comfortable and durable.

Planning & Design

From layout and room configuration to lighting, flooring, and storage solutions, we guide you through the design process to ensure your basement is both functional and inviting.

Construction

During construction, we provide regular updates and work carefully to minimize disruption. Our team manages logistics like access, dust, and noise so the process stays as smooth as possible.

Finishing Touches

Details matter. From trim and lighting to flooring and built-ins, we make sure every element feels polished and cohesive with the rest of your home.

Final Walkthrough & Support

Before completion, we review the finished basement with you to confirm everything meets expectations. And even after the project ends, we’re here to answer questions or provide support whenever you need it.
